Topic Cheech and Chong's New Movie - A Fresh IdeaPosted by ATC919
I've been a big fan of Cheech and Chong for years and have been waiting for a GOOD reunion movie. I'd like to see something that not only reunites them on the screen, but that is a huge bnox office success and revives this duo's career as a team. I've read the summary of the proposed movie, it's kinda weak. Here's my suggestion. DASH FOR THE STASH (Summary) 20 years later, we find Cheech and Chong being released from prison. The one-time friends have each been told that the other had ratted them out. The two were split up and sent to different prisons and are now about to be released. They both have the same goal: make it to LA to retrieve their hidden stash first. These two retro-stoners each find traveling companions, two neo-stoners who have had their own split, Jay and Silent Bob. Chong teams up with Jay when they meet on South Beach were Jay has become a hot dog and dope selling thong boy trying to be the homosexual marijuana supply king. Cheech meets up with Silent Bob at his new job when Cheech’s new boss Dante, at the Quick Stop, sends him out to run off Bob from the front of the store, the two end up out back smoking a blunt. Now these two pairs hit the road to LA, each pair being tailed. Chong and Jay get a ride by one of Jay customers in a pink cadillac convertible. Bob and Chong raise some cash when Bob enters a familiar poker game in Jersey, and Cheech buys a throw-back low-rider. Along the way they meet some interesting characters, Bluntman makes and appearance, Bob finds his “Amy” working in a strip joint, Chong meets up with the “Other Ones”, and the four finally meet up at the Jerry Garcia Memorial Concert. Everyone makes up, and the foursome continue on to LA, where Cheech and Chong’s old nemesis is waiting, Stedanko. Cheech and Chong get busted and Jay and Silent Bob stand in as the defense lawyers at the trail. That's all for now, I won't give away the ending. What do you think about it? I have an 8 page step sheet the flushes out some of the details. I haven't written and entire script, I wouldn't presume to do that. I mean who could write better dialog for Cheech and Chong or Jay and Silent Bob, then they and thier people. I just present this as a more financially sound undertaking, a great buddy/road movie, and a vehicle to unite old school and new school stoners, who are two very different audiences, a great demographic combination.
I am a big fan of cheech and chong including my family and every one i know around me.I am not a smoker and watching there movies does not make me urge for it .Cheech and chong are extremely funny they are loved by many people,I have met people like doctors, police officers, lawyer, and ext, and they all have one thing in common, they all remember there movies and still laugh about some scenes that they remember.I am in my mid 30s and work in the medical field and i have been waiting for a reunion movie for many years and i hope they keep on making movies together,i would pay any amount to go watch them again.
