Cheech or Chong 55 Chevy Convertible

I don't know if C or C actually read these posts but I was at a car show near Nashville, Tn last week-end and there was a 55 Chevy convertible, Coral colored in front and white rear with a white convertible top there. It looked brand new. The owner said it came from California and had once belonged to C or C (not purchased new). I was just wondering if that was true? Thanks. JD
